Die Begegnung verschiedener musikalischer Welten ist das Markenzeichen des Music Discovery Projects, das einmal jährlich die Jahrhunderthalle füllt und das Publikum bereits seit 15 Jahren stets aufs Neue begeistert. Special Guest der neuen Ausgabe mit dem Titel »LichtBlicke« ist die Sängerin Namika. Sinfonische wie auch kammermusikalische Klangfarben bestimmen dabei das Programm rund um das hr-Sinfonieorchester. Schon mit ihrem Debüt »Nador« von 2015 startete Namika durch und erreichte mit dem Album Goldstatus. Für die Nummer-1-Single »Lieblingsmensch« gab es gleich mehrfach Gold in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz. Einladungen zum Bundesvision Song Contest, dem New Music Award und mehrfache Echo Nominierungen folgten. Gerade ist mit »Wie geht’s dir?« das dritte Album von Namika herausgekommen. Entstanden sind die Songs in den vergangenen drei Jahren während der Pandemie, die nicht nur für die gebürtige Frankfurterin eine herausfordernde Zeit war. Ihre positiven Songs begegnen im Music Discovery Project Werken klassischer Komponisten wie Johannes Brahms, Sergej Prokofjew und Claude Debussy, die mit ihrer ausdruckstarken, stimmungsreichen Musik das Publikum einmal mehr in den Bann ziehen werden. Als solistischer Counterpoint zu Namika ist zudem der Solo-Kontrabassist des hr-Sinfonieorchesters Bogusław Furtok mit von der Partie. Mit seiner nicht nur klassisch geschulten Virtuosität und den bassig tiefgründigen Sounds seines Instruments wird er den Abend um weitere interessante Stimmungen und Farben bereichern. Am Pult des hr-Sinfonieorchesters steht diesmal Frank Strobel, vielen bekannt als profunder Filmmusik-Dirigent, der schon zahlreiche begeisternde Musikprojekte mit dem hr-Sinfonieorchester realisiert hat, darunter auch bereits eine Ausgabe des Music Discovery Projects. Und so ist auch 2023 wieder ein außergewöhnlicher wie spannender Abend garantiert.

The songs were written over the past three years during the pandemic, which was a challenging time not only for the Frankfurt native. In the Music Discovery Project, her positive songs encounter works by classical composers such as Johannes Brahms, Sergei Prokofiev and Claude Debussy, who will once again captivate the audience with their expressive, atmospheric music. As a solo counterpoint to Namika, the solo double bassist of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Bogusław Furtok is also part of the party. With his not only classically trained virtuosity and the bassy deep sounds of his string instrument, he will enrich the evening with further interesting moods and colors. This time, the conductor of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony will be Frank Strobel, known to many as a profound film music conductor who has already realized numerous inspiring music projects with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, including an edition of the Music Discovery Project. And so an extraordinary as well as exciting evening is guaranteed again in 2023.
